Mechanism of Action:
Ambenonium is a long-acting cholinesterase inhibitor. It increases the levels of acetylcholine at neuromuscular junctions.
Uses:
Its primary use is in the management of myasthenia gravis.
Side Effects:
Can include abdominal pain, diarrhea, excessive salivation, and, rarely, a cholinergic crisis.
