Mechanism of Action
Free radical generation via endoperoxide bridge cleavage, leading to parasite destruction.
Uses
Severe malaria treatment in ACTs.
Often combined with Lumefantrine (Coartem®).
Side Effects
Neurotoxicity at high doses, nausea, QT prolongation.
