  • Histamine and Astemizole compete for binding to H1-receptor locations in the GI tract, uterus, major blood arteries, and bronchial muscle.

  • Astemizole reversible binding to H1-receptors prevents edema, flare, and pruritus from developing because of histaminic action.

Uses

  • Astemizole is prescribed to treat allergic issues that occur in runny noses, itchy, watery eyes, skin rashes, and allergic reactions to foods and medications.
