Mechanism of Action:

  • Benztropine is an anticholinergic compound which is used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease-like extrapyramidal symptoms. It works by blocking acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system.

Uses:

  • It is used to treat Parkinson's disease and the extrapyramidal symptoms caused by antipsychotic drugs.

Side Effects:

  • Side effects include dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, drowsiness, and confusion.
