Mechanism of Action:

  • Chlorprothixene is a thioxanthene antipsychotic, blocking dopaminergic receptors in the brain.

Uses:

  • It's used for the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychoses.

Side Effects:

  • Side effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, and constipation. More severe side effects include extrapyramidal symptoms.
