Mechanism of Action:
Clonazepam works by enhancing the effect of the neurotransmitter GABA, which inhibits activity in the brain and has a calming effect.
Uses:
It's used to control seizures, panic disorder, and for the movement disorder known as akathisia.
Side Effects:
It can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and, in more serious cases, dependency and withdrawal symptoms.
