Cromolyn sodium is a polysulfated derivative of benzilic acid, featuring multiple sulfonate groups attached to a benzene ring.

Mode of Action
Stabilizes mast cells, preventing the release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators.
It does not directly block H₁ receptors but inhibits the cellular response to histamine.
Uses
Asthma: Prevents and controls asthma symptoms by inhibiting mast cell degranulation.
Allergic Rhinitis: Reduces nasal congestion and other allergic symptoms.
Conjunctivitis: Alleviates eye irritation and redness caused by allergies.
