Occurrence:

  • Leutin is predominantly found in green leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, and broccoli. It is also present in lesser amounts in other colorful fruits and vegetables.

Chemical Nature:

  • Lutein is a specific type of xanthophyll with a molecular structure that includes a long chain of carbon atoms with conjugated double bonds and an end ring at each side containing oxygen.

  • This structure is responsible for its potent antioxidant capabilities and its yellow color.

Medicinal Benefits:
