Menadione functions as a cofactor in the synthesis of Factor (Coagulating factor) II, VII, IX, and X in the liver. It is an analogue of vitamin K. which further promote coagulation.

Additionally, it helps in treating diseases brought on by a deficiency of vitamin K in the body.
