Mechanism of Action:
Methyldopa is an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist.
It lowers blood pressure by decreasing sympathetic outflow from the central nervous system, which dilates blood vessels.
Uses:

Side Effects:
Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and headache.
