Mechanism of Action

Uses

  • Treats serious Gram-negative infections, including pneumonia, sepsis, and UTIs.

  • Safe for penicillin-allergic patients (no cross-reactivity).

Side Effects

  • Common: Rash, nausea.

  • Serious: Liver enzyme elevation, eosinophilia.
