  • Nateglinide is a meglitinide with a pyridine and indole ring system, providing enhanced specificity for pancreatic K⁺ channels.

Mode of Action

  • Similar to Repaglinide: Stimulates insulin secretion by

    blocking K⁺ channels.

  • Rapid Onset and Short Duration: Effective in managing postprandial hyperglycemia with minimal risk of hypoglycemia.

Uses

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Regulates postprandial blood glucose spikes.

  • Combination Therapy: Utilized alongside other antidiabetic medications for optimal glycemic management.
