Combat Drug Abuse and Trafficking:
Prevent the cultivation, production, distribution, and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Regulate Controlled Substances:
Strictly control the availability and use of substances with high abuse potential.
Ensure Public Health and Safety:
Protect individuals from the harmful effects of drug addiction and psychotropic substance misuse.
Facilitate Rehabilitation:
Provide mechanisms for the rehabilitation of drug addicts.
International Compliance:
Align national laws with international drug control conventions, such as the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961, and the Convention on Psychotropic Substances, 1971.
