Offences under Animals Act

Cruelty to Animals:

  • Overloading, beating, torturing, or killing animals.

Neglect or Abandonment:

  • Failure to provide food, water, or shelter.

Illegal Experiments:

  • Performing experiments without CPCSEA approval.

Transport Violations:

  • Transporting animals in inhumane conditions.

Penalties

For First Offence:

  • Fine: Up to ₹50.

For Subsequent Offences:

  • Fine: Between ₹25 and ₹100.

  • Imprisonment: Up to 3 months, or both.

Additional Actions:

  • Seizure of animals.

  • Cancellation of licenses or registrations.
