  • Phenidamine tartrate is a piperazine derivative with a diphenylmethyl substitution and an ethyl chain.

  • It forms a salt with tartaric acid to improve solubility.

  • Chemical Formula: C₁₄H₂₀N₂·C₄H₆O₆

Mode of Action

  • Functions as an H₁-antagonist with anticholinergic properties.

  • It blocks histamine receptors to alleviate allergic symptoms.

Uses

  • Allergic Reactions: Treats symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and runny nose.

  • Urticaria: Alleviates hives and skin itching.

  • Cold Symptoms: Helps reduce nasal congestion and other related symptoms.
