Mechanism of Action:

  • Pilocarpine is a cholinomimetic drug that primarily acts on muscarinic receptors.

Uses:

  • It's used in the treatment of glaucoma and dry mouth (xerostomia), particularly in Sjogren's syndrome.

Side Effects:

  • Side effects can include headache, excessive sweating, increased salivation, nausea, and diarrhea. Eye drops can cause blurred vision and eye irritation.
