Inhibits dihydropteroate synthase, blocking folic acid synthesis in bacteria.
Bacteriostatic: prevents bacterial growth.

Respiratory infections.
Side Effects
Hypersensitivity reactions (rash, Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
Crystalluria, nephrotoxicity
