Mechanism of Action:

  • Thiothixene is a thioxanthene derivative that blocks dopamine receptors in the brain.

Uses:

  • It's used for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Side Effects:

  • Common side effects include dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, and drowsiness. More severe side effects include extrapyramidal symptoms and tardive dyskinesia.
