Rules for Transfer and Acquisition of Animals:

Source of Animals:

  • Animals must be obtained only from registered breeders or recognized institutions.

Transfer Conditions:

  • Animals must be transferred in safe, humane conditions without overcrowding or malnutrition.

Documentation:

  • Proper records of acquisition, purpose, and disposal must be maintained for inspection

Records

Institutions conducting experiments must maintain accurate records regarding:

  1. Type and Number of Animals Used.

  2. Purpose of the Experiment.

  3. Condition of Animals Before and After Experimentation.

  4. Approval Details from IAEC and CPCSEA.

Power to Suspend or Revoke Registration

CPCSEA has the authority to suspend or revoke registrations of institutions if:

  1. They fail to comply with the guidelines.

  2. Engage in illegal breeding or unauthorized experiments.

Are found guilty of cruelty or negligence toward animals.
