Mechanism of Action:

  • Triclofos is a prodrug which is metabolized to the active compound trichloroethanol. It enhances the activity of GABA in the brain, leading to sedative and hypnotic effects.

Uses:

  • It is used to treat insomnia, particularly in children.

Side Effects:

  • Side effects can include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, and, in rare cases, serious skin reactions.
