Mechanism of Action:

  • Triflupromazine is a phenothiazine derivative which blocks dopaminergic receptors in the CNS.

Uses:

  • It's used for the management of anxiety, psychosis, and severe nausea and vomiting.

Side Effects:

  • It can cause drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and blurred vision. In more severe cases, it can cause extrapyramidal symptoms and tardive dyskinesia.
