Mechanism of Action:
Zalcitabine is another NRTI that works against HIV.
It is a nucleoside analogue that, after phosphorylation, competes with natural nucleotides for incorporation into the growing viral DNA chain by reverse transcriptase, leading to chain termination and inhibition of viral replication.
