GMCH Chandigarh opened online applications on 15 October for 242 medical/resident vacancies, including 27 MBBS Junior Residents and five BDS Junior Residents.

Quick details

  • Junior Resident: MBBS/BDS plus council registration; one-year rotatory internship completed or due to finish by 31 December 2026. Candidates who have already done one year of JR are ineligible.
  • Other roles: SR/CMO/resident specialist posts require the relevant postgraduate qualification; MO/EMO/LMO and Demonstrator criteria differ.
  • Pay/age: JR/MO basic ₹56,100; SR basic ₹67,700; Demonstrator ₹53,100, plus specified allowances. General upper ages: JR 30, MO/Demonstrator 37, SR group 45.
  • Deadline: 28 October 2026, 4 pm; JR tenure starts 1 January 2027.
  • Fee/tests: ₹500 normally, ₹250 SC; specified exemptions. Written tests on 3–4 November, post-wise, followed by interview.
