Life Processes Class 10 notes become easier to revise when you organise the chapter around four functions: nutrition, respiration, transport and excretion.

Four processes to remember

  • Nutrition: how organisms obtain and use food; compare autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition.
  • Respiration: how cells release usable energy from food; distinguish aerobic and anaerobic pathways at textbook level.
  • Transport: how materials move within plants and animals.
  • Excretion: how metabolic wastes are removed; connect each organ or structure with its role.

A 15-minute revision task

  • Draw and label one prescribed diagram, such as a nephron or the human heart.
  • Write a short comparison, for example xylem versus phloem.
  • Explain one process in a logical sequence using the correct scientific terms.
